The fun bar is a meter that measures the amount of fun one is having, as the name may suggest. When the fun bar goes beyond the preset parameters, permission to engage in pleasurable activities hitherto allowed is withdrawn.

The fun bar in action: Keith goes out. Keith has fun. Fun level goes up. Fun level exceeds recommended parameters. Countermeasures are initiated to restore previous level of fun. Boredom returns.
